Chocolate Malted Brownies

Ingredients
  • 226g unsalted butter, melted
  • 240g brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs 
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 sachets of Gardenia Chocolate Malt Drink 
  • 120g plain flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Vanilla Ice Cream (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease or line a square baking pan (8×8 inch) with a bit of butter.
  2. In a bowl, whisk 226g melted unsalted butter and 240g brown sugar until smooth. Add 4 large eggs and ½ tsp vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  3. Stir in the 6 sachets of Gardenia Chocolate Malt Drink, 120g plain flour, and ½ tsp salt. Mix just until you get a smooth batter.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  6. Let brownies cool in the pan before slicing. Serve on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
