Egg Pie
Ingredients
- 1 pack Gardenia Hokkaido Butter Rolls
- 2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
- 1¼ cup Whole Milk
- ¾ cup Water
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 6 pcs Egg Yolks
- ½ tbsp Vanilla

Method
- Preheat the oven or toaster to 140°C.
- Get a piece of Gardenia Hokkaido Butter Rolls and cut a circle in the middle, only half way through the bun. Press down the center to create a space for the filling.
- Toast for 3 minutes then set aside.
- Dissolve sugar in a bowl of hot water and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix flour and ¼ cup of the milk.
- In a saucepan, heat the remaining 1 cup of milk. Continue stirring to prevent the milk from burning. When it simmers, add the sugar, vanilla and water mixture.
- Transfer the mixture into the bowl of flour and milk, whisking to prevent lumps. Let the mixture cool down.
- Whisk in one egg yolk at a time. Strain in a container and pour into the toasted bun.
- Bake the small pies for 10 mins or until firm.
- Serve while hot.
