
Gardenia Layers
Ingredients
- 1 pack Gardenia Enriched White Bread
- ¾ stick Unsalted butter, melted
- 8 pcs Eggs
- 1 cup Evaporated milk
For the Meat Filling
- 750 g Ground Beef
- 9 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 pcs Onion, minced
- 1 tsp Dried rosemary
- 1 pc Bell pepper, cubed
- 1/3 cup Cooking oil
- 2¾ tsp Salt
- ¾ tsp Black pepper, ground
- 2½ tsp Sugar


Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Grease an 8×12 baking pan with butter.
- To prepare the meat filling, sauté garlic and onion in oil. Add in the ground beef, bell pepper, sugar, salt, and pepper. Continue to cook until beef has browned. Add rosemary. Remove excess oil and set aside.
- To prepare the egg-milk mixture, whisk together eggs and melted butter. Add evaporated milk.
- Dip each slice of Gardenia Enriched White Bread into the egg mixture and place one layer at the bottom of the pan.
- Spread an even portion of the prepared meat filling over the bread layer. Repeat layering the bread and meat filling until the pan is filled.
- Pour in the remaining egg mixture over the top when layers are completed.
- Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden.
- Serve while warm.
