Gyudon Sandwich

Ingredients
  1. 4 slices Gardenia Enriched White Bread
  2. 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
  3. 150g Beef Sukiyaki Cut
  4. 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  5. 2 tsp Sugar
  6. 1 tbsp Mirin
  7. 1 cup (200ml) Water
  8. 2 pcs Eggs, beaten
  9. 1 tsp Spring Onion
  10. 1 tsp Pickled Ginger
  11. ½ pc Onion, thinly sliced

Method

  1. To make the beef gyudon, heat oil in a pan and sauté onion until translucent. Add beef, soy sauce, sugar, mirin, and water. Bring to simmer and cook for about 5 minutes or until the sauce has reduced. Set aside.
  2. In a separate non-stick pan, heat up oil and cook scrambled eggs. Before the eggs are done cooking, place the Gardenia Enriched White Bread on top of the egg to make an egg-bread toast. If your pan is big enough, put two slices of bread on top of the eggs. If not, repeat this step for all the slices of bread, one at a time.
  3. Flip the egg-bread toast, careful not to break it. Add the beef gyudon on top of the bread, and sprinkle some spring onions and pickled ginger. Cover with another slice of egg-bread toast and continue toasting for 1 more minute.
  4. Cut the sandwich in half and serve while warm.
